JAMB 2025: “Physics Was Nothing I Expected” — Godwin Says Subject Was Tough Despite Past Question Practice

A JAMB 2025 candidate, Godwin, has shared his mixed feelings after writing the UTME, revealing that while some subjects went smoothly, Physics turned out to be a major challenge.

“Maths, English, and Geography were okay, but Physics was nothing I really expected. There were no repeated questions from the past 7 years. Forget about all these things I said — Physics was very difficult, both the questions and the answer format,” he said.

Some Subjects Were Manageable

Godwin felt confident with subjects like Mathematics, English, and Geography, saying they were fair and within reach. This suggests that his preparation in those areas paid off, and he was able to attempt the questions with a sense of calm.

But Physics Came as a Shock

Unlike other subjects, Physics gave him a hard time. He expected to see some familiar patterns or repeated questions from previous years, but none showed up. The format of the questions and even the answer options were different from what he was used to.

This left him feeling frustrated and unprepared, despite all the time spent practicing past questions.

A Wake-Up Call for Future Candidates

Godwin’s experience is a reminder that:

  • JAMB doesn’t always repeat questions, especially in subjects like Physics.
  • While past questions help, it’s also important to understand the core concepts, not just memorize answers.
  • You must prepare for surprises and train yourself to think critically, even when the question style changes.

Final Thoughts

Godwin’s honesty reflects what many candidates silently go through — doing their best, yet getting thrown off by an unexpected paper. His story is a reminder to future candidates: read wide, understand deeply, and prepare for anything.

And even when things don’t go as planned, hold on. You gave it your best.

  3. I thought I was the only one! I thought chemistry would even be the hardest. I did my English first and I was sailing smoothly, did Biology next and it was still smooth. Most of the Chemistry questions turned out to be simple but Physics was not what I expected at all.

What I did was I made sure I knew about 20 questions is it and then calculated it over 100 (since our result for the subject will be over 100 but the questions are 40) and then I knew that at least I was not going to get anything less than 50.

  4. What I saw today during the jamb on physics question wasn’t what I expected. I expected to see difficult questions but it turned out that the questions were simple, not based mainly on calculation
