JAMB 2025: “Candidates Affected by System Errors Will Be Rescheduled” — JAMB Responds to Concerns

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has responded to growing concerns from candidates affected by technical glitches during the 2025 UTME, clarifying that rescheduling is available for those genuinely affected by system failures.

This came after a candidate, Olawanle Timileyin (@Timzy534), publicly appealed for help on Twitter after missing his CBT exam due to a system error.

“I was unable to do the CBT due to system error, and I was told to come next year. It is not fair. Dear JAMB official, please help,” Timileyin pleaded, sharing his registration number publicly.

His post quickly gained attention, gathering over 14,000 views within hours.

JAMB’s Response: No Candidate Will Be Abandoned If System Error Occurs

In its official reply, @JAMBHQ stated:

“That’s a cheap blackmail. If a centre experiences a technical glitch that makes the session not to hold, the affected candidates are rescheduled and they’ll be required to reprint their examination slips for details on their new centre, time, and location.”

JAMB made it clear that genuine technical failures — such as system crashes or hanging that prevent candidates from sitting for their exams — will not result in automatic disqualification.
Affected candidates are expected to reprint their slips to get information about their new schedule.

Important Clarification: No Rescheduling for Latecomers and Absentees

However, JAMB also warned:

“Such treatment isn’t available for latecomers and absentees.”

This means:

  • Candidates who missed their exam because of lateness or personal absence without any technical excuse will not be rescheduled.
  • Only those who experienced verified technical issues at their centres will be given a second chance.

What Affected Candidates Should Do

If you missed your exam due to a confirmed technical problem, you should:

  • Keep checking the JAMB portal to reprint your exam slip.
  • Watch out for new date, centre, and time details.
  • Stay in touch with your CBT centre for official updates.
  • Stay calm and prepare for the new exam date — you have not lost your chance.

Final Words

JAMB’s statement brings relief to many candidates who faced genuine system issues.
If you were affected, you will be given another opportunity — but you must act quickly, stay informed, and be ready when the new date is announced.

Stay hopeful, and keep preparing — your opportunity is not lost!
