JAMB 2025: “My Fingerprint Failed and They Said They Will Reschedule, But the Date Has Not Changed Yet” — Omowaye Boluwatife Abigail Shares Her Concern

A candidate, Omowaye Boluwatife Abigail, has shared her worry after experiencing a biometric problem during her JAMB 2025 UTME exam, which led to her being promised a rescheduled date that has not yet been updated.

“Good afternoon ma/sir. My fingerprint failed yesterday while I wanted to write my exam and I was told that they will reschedule it, but the date has not changed yet. What can I do, ma?” she said.

Biometric failure has affected several candidates this year, and like Abigail, many are now waiting anxiously for new updates about their exam date.

What Happens After Biometric Failure?

When a candidate’s fingerprint fails during verification:

  • JAMB policy states that the candidate must not be allowed to write immediately.
  • The candidate is expected to be documented and given a rescheduling form at the center.
  • After that, JAMB will set a new date and inform candidates officially.

However, the update on the portal may take a few days, and it is normal for the date not to change immediately.

What Omowaye Boluwatife Abigail Should Do

  • Keep the rescheduling slip or documentation that was given to you safe.
  • Keep checking the JAMB portal regularly — the new exam details will be updated there.
  • Stay patient for a few days — sometimes, rescheduled dates are announced after the main exam batches are completed.
  • Visit a JAMB office if after a reasonable number of days (about 5–7 days) you still don’t get any update, just to be sure.

Important Advice

  • Do not register a fresh profile or panic — your original registration is still valid.
  • Stay close to your email and phone for any communication from JAMB.
  • Focus on studying so you’ll be ready when the new date is announced.

Final Words

Abigail, it’s understandable to feel anxious, but please stay calm.
Since you have already been recorded for rescheduling, JAMB will surely arrange a new exam session for you.
Hold on, stay prepared, and trust the process — your opportunity to write the exam will come.

Wishing you the very best as you wait for your new exam date!
