A JAMB 2025 candidate, Nmesoma, has shared her worry after experiencing a technical issue during her exam where her computer turned off automatically before she could finish.
“My system automatically turned off on its own. Will my answers be submitted?” she asked.
Nmesoma’s fear is understandable, especially during a highly important exam like the UTME, where every second counts.

What Happens If the System Turns Off During JAMB Exam?
Candidates should not panic when their computer shuts down unexpectedly because:
- JAMB systems are built to save answers automatically as candidates select each option.
- Even if your computer turns off, your answers up to that point are already saved on the JAMB server.
- When you log back in (if possible) or when the system is restored, you either continue from where you stopped or, if the exam cannot continue, your saved answers are used for grading.
In most cases, candidates do not lose their previously selected answers.
Advice for Nmesoma and Others in Similar Situations
- If it happened during the exam and you continued afterward, your work was safe.
- If the system could not be restarted, JAMB will use the saved answers up to the point the system went off.
- You will not score zero because the system is designed to protect candidates’ progress.
However, if you were unable to continue at all, it’s always good to report immediately to the centre officials so it is officially recorded.

Final Words
Nmesoma, stay calm.
As long as you attempted questions and the system captured them before the shutdown, your answers are safe and will be counted during grading.
Wishing you the best as you await your result — you’ve already done your part!
My Slip has the 2024 template instead of 3025, I hope this wouldn’t be an issue during admission processing and verification
