System Glitches Left Candidates Helpless
A concerned parent, Mr. Nwachukwu, has expressed deep disappointment over the experience his daughter faced during the ongoing 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) at the Mountain Top University CBT Centre, Ogun State.
According to Mr. Nwachukwu, his daughter was scheduled to write her exam on Thursday, 24th April, 2025, by 2:00 PM. She arrived early, as instructed, but faced serious challenges due to system failures at the centre.

No Immediate Action Taken
When the exam began, Mr. Nwachukwu explained that about six candidates, including his daughter, discovered that their assigned computers could not process the exam properly. Despite drawing the attention of the centre invigilators, they were not assisted immediately.
“The invigilators kept telling them the challenge was from JAMB’s network in Abuja,” he said. “Meanwhile, other candidates were already actively writing their exams.”
The affected candidates were left idle and unattended for about 30 minutes while precious time ticked away.

Relocation to Other Computers Came Too Late
After a long wait, the invigilators eventually decided to move the affected candidates to other free computers. However, by this time, valuable time had already been lost.
“The sad part is that even after being moved to other systems, they still had to submit their papers at the same time as others,” Mr. Nwachukwu lamented. “No extra time was given to compensate for the delay.”
Call for Improved Management at CBT Centres
Mr. Nwachukwu called on JAMB and CBT centre administrators to show more sensitivity to candidates’ struggles. He emphasized that candidates deserve to be treated fairly and that immediate action should be taken whenever technical problems arise.
He urged JAMB to properly monitor CBT centres to avoid scenarios where technical issues could rob candidates of the opportunity to perform at their best.
