A JAMB 2025 candidate, Yakubu Rashidat, has shared a troubling experience at her exam center, raising concerns about the accuracy and fairness of the examination process.
“We had 55 English questions instead of 60 at my center. Even out of the 55 questions, 10 were without questions — only options were provided,” she said.
Her experience highlights one of the rare but serious technical issues that can occur during the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Fewer Questions and Missing Prompts in English Language
According to Rashidat:
- Candidates were given only 55 questions in English Language instead of the usual 60 questions.
- Even among the 55 questions available, 10 had no actual questions — only the answer options were displayed without any guiding statement.
This created confusion for candidates, leaving them unsure about how to answer or whether to even attempt those questions.
Why This Is a Serious Concern
- English Language is a compulsory subject for all candidates and carries significant weight in admission processing.
- Missing questions could affect candidates’ scores unfairly, especially in a competitive year.
- Such system glitches can lower candidates’ confidence and trust in the fairness of the exam process.
