JAMB 2025: “We Waited from Morning Till Night to Write Our Exam” — Khadeejah Shares Frustrating Experience Over System Failure

A JAMB 2025 candidate, Khadeejah, has shared her heartbreaking and frustrating experience at her exam center, where system failure turned what should have been a smooth exam day into a long, exhausting wait.

“Today’s exam was so annoying in my center. I had exam at 9:00AM. I reached the center at 7:15AM, but we waited and waited. After all the waiting, one invigilator came and told us the computers were faulty and needed to be repaired. Those scheduled for 6:30AM hadn’t even written yet. The funniest thing is that till 3:00PM, they were still telling us the system was faulty and we should be patient. Later, they said those writing 3:00PM should enter first. We that were to write 6:30AM, 9:00AM, and 12:00PM were asked to wait again. It was after they finished that we entered, and we didn’t finish writing till around 8:00PM,” she said.

A Long Day of Waiting and Disappointment

Khadeejah’s story shows just how bad system failures can affect candidates:

  • She arrived as early as 7:15AM for a 9:00AM exam.
  • Instead of writing immediately, she waited for over 10 hours at the center.
  • The exam that should have ended early dragged into the night hours, with candidates still struggling to finish by 8:00PM.

The Emotional and Physical Stress

Waiting for hours without clear communication caused serious emotional stress, fatigue, and confusion.
Many candidates, like Khadeejah, spent the whole day at the center without proper food, rest, or assurance of when they would eventually write.

This experience can weaken candidates’ performance, no matter how prepared they were before the exam.

A Call for JAMB to Act

Stories like Khadeejah’s are a reminder that:

  • Centers must be properly checked and systems tested before assigning candidates.
  • Candidates deserve better planning and communication to avoid unnecessary suffering.
  • Backup systems and quick repairs must be in place in every center to handle emergencies.

Candidates should not have to go through this level of stress just to write an exam.

Final Words

Khadeejah’s courage to share her story speaks for many others who suffered the same experience in silence.
We hope JAMB will listen to these voices and work to ensure fair treatment for all candidates.

Stay strong, Khadeejah — your effort and patience will not be in vain.
