What Happens After the 6 Years?
After graduating with an MBBS degree:
- You will proceed for one year of compulsory housemanship at an accredited hospital.
- Then, you must do the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), which also takes one year.
So when you add everything, it becomes roughly 8 years from the start of university till full qualification to work independently as a medical doctor in Nigeria.
