Important Points to Note Before Applying
- Distinction Between DE and UTME: The JAMB Direct Entry form is distinct from the UTME form, specifically designed for candidates seeking admission into the second year of a university program.
- Registration Limitation: Candidates cannot apply for both JAMB DE and UTME in the same year.
- Online Application: The JAMB DE form is an online application form available on the JAMB portal.
- Accepted Qualifications/Certificates: JAMB recognizes and accepts only twelve qualifications/certificates.
- Validity of Statement of Result: Statement of result is accepted for registration only within three years of the date of award.
- Upgrade Option: Candidates awaiting A-level results can upgrade from UTME to DE if DE results have not been released at the point of UTME registration.
- Fees: The DE fee for the 2025/2026 session is N3,500, with additional charges such as N700 for CBT Centre registration service charge, N1,500 for CBT Centre service charge for mock/UTME, and N500 for bank charges/commission. The total cost is N6,200 for non-MOCK candidates and N7,700 for MOCK examination participants.
- National Identification Number (NIN): Applicants must have a National Identification Number.
Payment Methods
Candidates can choose from the following methods for payment:
- Bank Payment: Use the e-PIN generated on the JAMB portal to pay at any bank.
- Online Payment: Use your ATM card or USSD code on the JAMB portal for online payment.
- POS Payment: Pay with POS at any accredited CBT or JAMB office.
Step-by-Step Registration Process

- Receive a confirmation code.
- Log into the JAMB Portal: Use the received code to log into the JAMB portal.
- Visit Accredited Centers: Go to any accredited bank, CBT Centre, or embassy (for candidates abroad) to obtain the JAMB e-PIN. Provide the confirmation code and pay the required fee.
- Confirmation Message: After sending a message to 55019 or 66019, receive a 10-digit profile code, registered name with NIMC, and total cost information.
- Present Profile Code: Present the profile code at the point of form procurement (Banks, MMOs, MFBs, Switches, USSD Partners).
- Retrieve Lost Profile Code or e-PIN:
- For lost profile code, send [RESEND] to 55019 or 66019.
- If e-PIN is not received or lost, send [UTMEPIN] or [DEPIN] to 55019 or 66019 for UTME or DE, respectively.
- JAMB Accredited CBT Centre: Proceed to any JAMB accredited CBT centre to present the e-PIN for registration.
