As the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) begins, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released an official list of items that are strictly prohibited from all exam venues. Candidates are advised to take this warning seriously to avoid being barred from writing the exam.
According to JAMB, candidates must not bring any item on the banned list near the exam venue, let alone inside the hall. The board clearly stated that any candidate who disobeys this directive will not be allowed to take the examination.
What Are the Banned Items for JAMB 2025?
JAMB listed 23 items that are not allowed inside the examination hall:
- Biro and pen

Reprint Your JAMB Notification Slip Early
JAMB also reminded candidates to reprint their 2025 UTME notification slips. This slip contains vital information including your exam date, time, venue, and session.
To reprint your slip:
- Visit www.jamb.gov.ng
- Click on “2025 UTME Slip Printing”
- Enter your JAMB registration number, email address, or phone number
- Print your exam slip
Why It’s Important to Print Early
According to JAMB’s Director of IT, printing the slip early helps candidates know their schedule ahead of time, especially since the exam timetable may be adjusted. Early knowledge of the venue and time allows candidates to make necessary arrangements and avoid lateness.
No excuses will be accepted for arriving late, and JAMB will not reschedule exams for any reason.
Biometric Verification Is Mandatory
JAMB stated that all candidates will undergo biometric verification before entering the exam hall using the Biometric Verification Machine (BVM). Without this verification, you will not be allowed to take the exam. Attendance will also be recorded strictly through this method.
JAMB reaffirmed its “No Biometric, No Exam” policy.
Final Reminder
JAMB is a crucial entrance exam for admission into Nigerian universities, and candidates are urged to take every instruction seriously. Do not bring banned items, arrive early, and follow the code of conduct. Any breach of these rules could cost you your future admission.
