After Tears and Complaints, JAMB Promises to Review 2025 UTME – See Details

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially responded to the growing public concern over the recently released 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results. The results, which were made public last Friday, have sparked a wave of unusual complaints from candidates across the country—prompting the Board to take immediate action.

In a statement released by Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, the Board acknowledged the volume of complaints and confirmed that it has begun an accelerated system review. This post-examination audit, typically conducted months after the UTME each year, has been brought forward in light of the current situation.

JAMB’s review covers all stages of the UTME process—registration, examination, and the release of results. Dr. Benjamin emphasized that the Board remains committed to ensuring that every candidate is given a fair chance to participate in the examination. He reassured the public that if technical problems occurred during the exam, affected candidates would be rescheduled, as is standard procedure.

According to the statement, the current wave of complaints is being thoroughly investigated, particularly those coming from certain states that appear to have been disproportionately affected. “We are particularly concerned about the unusual complaints originating from a few states within the Federation. We are currently scrutinising these complaints in detail to identify and rectify any potential technical issues,” the Board said.

To ensure transparency and accuracy in this process, JAMB has enlisted the support of external experts. These include professionals from the Computer Professionals Association of Nigeria, heads of universities serving as Chief External Examiners, measurement experts, and members of the Educational Assessment and Research Network in Africa.

“If it is determined that there were indeed glitches,” the statement noted, “we will implement appropriate remedial measures promptly, as we do in the case of the examinations themselves.”

The Board’s proactive stance is aimed at restoring public confidence and ensuring that no candidate is unfairly disadvantaged by technical errors or systemic lapses.

More updates are expected in the coming days as investigations progress. Candidates with unresolved issues are encouraged to remain patient while the Board completes its thorough review.

  1. I personally cried when I saw the my Jamb score, like I knew I completed my Biology scheme of work, chemistry and English. But I also knew I didn’t do well in Physics. But I can remember when I was answering the questions, biology and chemistry were exceptionally easier english a little bit tough, but i can understand How I scored 57 in English when literally we were given a text to read, how is that possible? but I pray Jamb all mistakes should be corrected

  4. Honestly,
When I saw my result I knew that wasn’t mine cause I read so much
The sleepless nights and constant solving of past questions
I’ve not been myself ever since I saw my result, so they should better do a review
